college football and NFL picks

Picked before kickoff. Graded against Vegas.

Every college football and NFL game we predict, by the math and by Claude on top of it, is saved before it starts and locked so it can't be changed. Then it's graded against Vegas's closing line, wins and losses alike.

How it works

  1. Saved before kickoff

Every pick goes into a database that won't take one after its game starts and won't let a saved pick be edited. Each game on a week's sheet shows when its picks were locked in and what the line was then.

  2. Graded against Vegas

Picks are scored against the closing line: winners, against the spread (52.4% breaks even at standard −110 odds), and closing line value, which says whether the line moved toward our side after we picked.

  3. Nothing left out

The math alone and each Claude model on top of it are all shown, every week, including the ones that lose. The big number is always the same predictor, each league's main pick (the math alone), not whichever did best. When an NFL starting quarterback changes, the game is predicted again and the first pick stays listed.
